The Lymphatic System VS Airport Security Line…?

Imagine you're at the airport, in your socks, waiting for security.

The line moves relatively quickly.

Every now and then, a traveler is put aside for more thorough screening.

Now let's say that this safety line is your Plasma.

And that you are a plasma cell, among many other cells, in this line.

Every traveler, like every plasma cell, wants only one thing: to reach their destination.

If the line moves too quickly, security checks may be poorly executed or rushed!

Therefore, from time to time, a traveler is removed from the queue for additional screening by security personnel.

This is exactly what lymph does: it carries away excess fluid for better control.

An additional check to ensure everything is correct and that there are no issues in the queue.

This check is performed in the background, discreetly, invisible, and unknown 😊

The lymphatic system isn't as popular as your other organs!

But it's important to know that it silently ensures everything is okay before transporting it to it's final destination.

It plays an essential role!

It provides essential support for your immune and cardiovascular systems.

Of the 20 liters of fluid that pass into the bloodstream each day, only 17 liters are recovered by the veins; 3 liters would be lost... if they weren't recovered.😊

The remaining 3 liters are in fact your lymph 😉

The Lymphatic System maintains your homeostasis*

Homeostasis = means a state of balance

and all your cells, tissues, organs, systems... all working towards this state of balance!

Fortunately, the extra fluid that remains around your cells, remember, is taken care of.

It is removed and analyzed by your lymphatic system.

Otherwise, the excess fluid lost during circulation would neither be recovered nor returned to its final destination! Imagine your ankles swelling, your lungs filling with fluid, your blood pressure and volume plummeting until… death.

The lymphatic system is not just an airport security line!

It also includes a series of checkpoints operated by qualified personnel for your safety and tailored to each attack your body faces:

- Immediate intervention

- Adaptive intervention

5 things to know about the Lymphatic System:

It is often thought that blood is transported by arteries and collected by veins.

But that's not entirely true.

10% of the interstitial fluid does not return to the veins and remains around the cells?

  • 1. It is the lymphatic system that recovers it and reinjects it into the veins.

  • 2. Without the lymphatic system, this fluid would gradually accumulate around the cells causing edema, more specifically lymphedema.

  • 3. This excess fluid is also analyzed in the lymph nodes to eliminate bacteria, viruses and other foreign bodies.

  • 4. There are millions of lymphatic vessels in the intestines responsible for the absorption of lipids and certain vitamins, notably A and D.

  • 5. Without these lymphatic vessels, severe malnutrition could occur with repercussions on bones, vision, blood clotting and immunity

You could say the lymphatic system is your body's plumbing.

Did you know that lymph nodes used to be palpated due to a lack of means to examine and visualize them?

The body's cells float in a fluid called interstitial tissue.

When the body experiences pain, the lymphatic system begins to store toxins between the cells.

This prevents the proper circulation of oxygen and energy production.

These cells begin to become diseased.

Lymph is responsible for our waste.

Does maderotherapy improve your lymphatic system?

Maderotherapy, or wood therapy, is an ancient Colombian technique once used in massage to relieve pain and promote physical and mental well-being.

It is recognized for its effectiveness against cellulite! A maderotherapy session consists of highly dynamic, repeated, and sustained movements performed using wooden instruments carved to perfectly fit different areas of the human body.

In recent years, these tools have been refined and used for body contouring.

Beyond its effectiveness against cellulite, maderotherapy can have many other health benefits.

The tools are used in a specific order, with precise movements, one area at a time, so as not to disturb the body during the elimination process.

Before and after each use, the goal is to stimulate the lymph nodes in the treated area, drain them, and restimulate them.
